About Supported Volunteering London

Supported Volunteering London (SVL) is an initiative of Greater London Volunteering (GLV) designed to encourage the development and sustainability of programmes for supported volunteering; to engage under-represented volunteers and to increase the number of opportunities for these volunteers. The website has been developed thanks to funding from Capacitybuilders.

Supported Volunteering London is dedicated to the provision and sharing of resources [hyperlink to resources], knowledge and experience around supported volunteering in London, in all its forms.

For individuals, this site will highlight who in London is working with specific under-represented groups, answer questions on what support is available and help you find the volunteering opportunity to suit you and your local Volunteer Centre.

For organisations, whether currently carrying out work with volunteers from one particular under-represented group, or working hard to involve all volunteers in as many areas of their work as possible, this site will provide support and guidance. Other organisations and Volunteer Centres who are developing this area of work, often in partnership, will be able to use the discussion and resources to learn from others and pick up their tips for success. Supported Volunteering London (SVL) website is for everyone who is interested in learning how to do it better and willing to share their experiences.

The main focus of Supported Volunteering London is peer to peer support for individuals and voluntary and community organisations, with news, events, research, discussion and resources on all types of supported volunteering.
